Aracely Navarro
Birth and Postpartum Doula
She/Her
Aracely Navarro is a full-spectrum Doula, herbalist and reproductive and environmental justice advocate that deeply cares for the healing of her community, women, birthing people, and children. Aracely is a certified Doula with the National Doula Certification Board and has been a practicing Doula for 5 years. She is also a student midwife, with hopes of becoming a community midwife in the future to reach and serve those who need midwifery care the most.
As a first-generation Chicana, daughter of Mexican and Guatemalan immigrants, she centers and brings in ancestral knowledge and wisdom from her culture in all she does. Aracely holds a Master of Public Health in Environmental Health from Emory University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science from Colorado College. She has also trained with local midwives and grandmothers to learn womb/abdominal massage, closing of the bones ceremony and traditional Mexican postpartum care.
She does this work because she sees the deep need for people to be cared for during such a vulnerable and life-changing moment. Her mother had 4-cesareans, her sister was a teen mom, and she saw how much they struggled to care for themselves and how at times they felt so unsupported. When she assists people in their birth and postpartum, she sees her mother, her sister and her aunties. She treats birthing people with the love, care and respect she would her family, she will hold you with warm hands and an open heart.
