Sanctuary’s Team

Sanctuary Doulas is an interdisciplinary team of compassionate, maternal health professionals supporting growing families throughout the childbearing years. Our team is made up of birth and postpartum doulas, overnight doulas, lactation consultants, massage therapists, psychotherapists, family chefs, nutritionists, and herbalists, all of whom are honored to play an integrative role in supporting families during this special season of life. We believe it takes a village to birth and raise a family and that every pregnancy, birth, and postpartum season has its own story. We are honored to walk beside our clients as these stories come to life.

Angela Harris

Care Coordinator, Postpartum Doula, Family Chef

Angela is a postpartum doula, perinatal and kids yoga instructor. Angela has always been interested in women’s wellness and support and became very interested in postpartum doula work after giving birth to both of her children 2000 miles away from her extended family. Her goal is to help mothers find their confidence and create systems to help continue to build trust in themselves as mothers. Originally from Canada, Angela moved to Colorado in 2017. When not working, Angela loves to be outdoors with her family especially hiking, mountain biking and skiing. She also fancies herself a pretty good home chef!

Emma Stapp

After Hours Care Coordinator, Overnight Specialist, Postpartum Doula, Birth Doula, Doula Training and Onboarding Specialist

Emma was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and started her career working at a community-based agency for deaf women and child survivors of domestic abuse. She attended the Birthingway College of Midwifery, earned a Remote Emergency Medical Technician certification, taught environmental education to preschool age children, worked as a private nanny and taught parenting classes. When she's not at work, Emma can be found playing outside - rock climbing, hiking, practicing yoga, swimming, skiing with friends - or cuddling her grandfatherly dog, Dudley. Emma supports the owners of Sanctuary by assisting with onboarding new team members and supervising our day and overnight internship programs.

Ali Sugarman

After Hours Care Coordinator, Birth and Postpartum Doula, Reiki and Reflexology Practitioner

Ali is a holistic birth & postpartum doula serving the Front Range of Colorado. She also offers overnight care and placenta encapsulation. She loves assisting birthing people and their partners as they transition into parenthood by offering them the tools, information and support they need to achieve a positive, nurtured experience, whether that's during pregnancy, labor, or the postpartum period. Her holistic background allows her to incorporate and honor the mind-body-spirit connection into her practice, while simultaneously respecting allopathic medicine and all it has to offer. Teaching mindfulness and the innate wisdom of the body is something she really enjoys sharing with her clients. Whatever your path and preferences, Ali is honored to be a part of the magic of this season. When she isn't attending births and postpartum visits, you can find Ali hiking in the mountains of Colorado, enjoying live music, or snuggling up with her husband, two dogs, and sassy kitty.
