Marley Pegler

Postpartum Doula, RN

She/Her

Marley is a birth and postpartum doula, medical-surgical nurse and mountain dweller. She cherishes living close to the earth, and aims to provide grounded loving care that reflects that. She is an educator, and is honored to support children and adults through life's most challenging moments. She performs this role in the hospital as a rural nurse, but to her it is the greatest honor to serve families in the home, in their most natural ecosystem. She believes holistic doula care means supporting, nurturing, and watering the whole ecosystem surrounding parents and their new child. It is an honor to be invited into this sacred space. She believes the most knowledgeable people are the clients themselves. They possess the knowledge of what will work best for their family: the newborn knows what kind of soothing they like, and the family knows what meals will feel most nourishing.

Before becoming a nurse, she worked as a special education paraeducator turned Deaf-Blind Intervener at Nederland Elementary School for 6 years. She gave one on one support to mountain kids with behavioral, developmental and medical needs. She believes in the use of touch to soothe tired bodies and to awaken and guide the little ones. She likes to expose little minds to intentional language early on. Marley is proficient in ASL, Spanish and French.

She cherished her time as a birth doula with Denver Health, learning so much from caring midwives and L&D nurses. And now she is very excited to be working with Sanctuary as a postpartum doula!
