Postpartum Doula Care
Our postpartum doulas help you create a sanctuary in your home where your growing family can thrive. A postpartum doula fills the “mothering the mother”, a role often lost in our society, by providing professional, evidence-based care that nurtures each family’s unique path through the early months postpartum. Welcoming a new member of the family is a life changing event that warrants care for all family members, not just the new baby.
There’s no wrong time to hire a postpartum doula! You can reserve our commitment in advance to be available for your home visits once your baby arrives by selecting a Care Plan, or can reach out after baby arrives for Immediate Care. When your baby arrives, your schedule of home visits is customized to your unique needs.
Day Doula Visits
Day visits are 4+ hours long and are different every visit depending on the client’s needs and desires in the moment. Some tasks include caring for baby while mom naps, rests or bathes; meal and snack preparation; supporting with newborn feeding, soothing, and sleeping; providing evidence-based information on post-natal healing; offering tips for partner and grandparent support and sibling adjustment; light house-holding including doing laundry, taking out trash and running errands. Specialty day visits can include infant feeding support, massage, and mood support wrapped into a standard 4+ hour visit. Standard 4 hour visits are $200-240.
Overnight Specialist Visits
Overnight visits help maximize sleep for the whole family with our doulas caring for baby all night long. Together we will create a plan for feeding throughout the night, which could include bringing baby to mom’s bed to breastfeed, or utilizing breastmilk or formula for bottle feedings. We also provide evidence-based information on newborn sleep, physiology and the relationship to feedings to help you establish a sustainable, healthy sleep rhythm for your family. An 8 hour overnight visit is $400 - 520, with some families preferring longer visits (9-12 hours). Our overnight care team includes postpartum doulas, newborn care specialists, night nannies, and registered nurses.
Custom Care Plan
We highly recommend working with us during your pregnancy to create a Custom Care Plan. This create peace of mind by having your postpartum care professionals hired and onboard ahead of baby’s arrival. All care plan contracted families get first priority when requesting a specific day and/or time for visits as well as specific doulas, and can also have visits scheduled out as far in advance as they’d like within their care plan.
For these plans, we strongly suggest a minimum of one visit per week. We’ll work with you to create an estimated care plan and then we’ll ask for a retainer of 50% that plan. We’ll use this retainer to pay for the first several visits of your care, and charge your credit card on file after your retainer is depleted.
Immediate Care
Immediate Care is for families who have baby already in their arms and find themselves in need of immediate postpartum doula care. We are able to accommodate requests for immediate care on a day to day basis, but don’t worry, we staff up the team with these needs in mind as we know often families don’t know they need support until they NEED it!
If you decide Immediate Care is the best fit for your family, visit availability is determined 2-3 days ahead of the proposed visit date and is based on availability after we serve our clients with a 6 or 12 week care plan. Visits are generally scheduled one or two at a time and can continue for as long as our team’s availability and your family’s needs warrant.
Rates, Fees and Policies
Rates: Our doulas hourly rates range from $50 - 60 per hour (ask us for our rates for multiples) based on the doula’s experience and advanced training (maybe of our doulas are also nurses). Day visits are typically 4 hours long and range from $200 - 240. Overnights typically are 8 hours long and range from $400 - 480. Extra hours can always be added on - for example, some families prefer 6 hour day visits or 10 hour overnight visits.
Admin Fee: Please note that a 4% service fee is added to all services at the time of purchase.

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel your appointment within 48 hours of the start time, you’ll be charged 50% of the appointment fee. Exceptions will be honored for birth, illness, weather, dangerous driving conditions or emergency. No-shows will be charged 100% of the appointment fee. If you’re scheduling a massage past 37 weeks, please add us to your labor call list so that we can pass along the time to someone else who needs it. Thanks so much for honoring our policy!
